The Pella boys basketball team may not have won the state championship Saturday night but the season was a huge success in many ways aside from just wins and losses.  Assistant coach Mike Ballenger says he’s coached a lot of teams in his many years of coaching, but this team was very special.  Ballenger says this is one of the most fun teams he’s ever coached due to their amazing work ethic and how they never gave up, never complained and accomplished what most would have said was impossible at the beginning of the season.  Pella finished their season 22-4 and earned a runner up finish in Class 3A, the program’s highest finish since 2003.ith
