Central’s bats came alive again yesterday pounding out 10 hits including a bases-loaded double by outfielder Ryan Allison that broke open a tight game and powered the Central College baseball team to a 10-4 win over St. Mary’s College of Maryland in Florida

Allison’s blow highlighted a five-run ninth inning for the Dutch who improved to 6-2. Central also got two hits from right fielder Jarred Lackey and third baseman Tony Miller. Miller was also big in the field as he made a game saving play after St. Mary’s pulled within one run in the eighth, he made a diving grab at third base and threw out the runner to prevent the tying run from scoring. Caleb Rangel got the win allowing just three runs over seven innings to improve to 2-0. He got relief help from Darin Schultz and Doug Eisenman . Central takes on New England today in a nine-inning game at noon (Eastern Time).
