The offense of the Central College baseball team backed up a pair of strong pitching performances Saturday, as the Dutch won both games of an Iowa Conference doubleheader with Luther College to sweep the weekend series. Central claimed the first game 5-1, which was highlighted by a pair of solo home runs by right fielder Jared Lackey and a dominating performance on the mound by Joel Pulliam, who held the Norse to just one run on three hits, while striking out five. In the second game of the double-dip, Central blasted Luther for eight runs in the first inning, which gave starter Corey Eisenmann plenty of a cushion to work with on the mound on the way to a 12-5 win for the Dutch. The two victories on Saturday, coupled with a 14-12 win over the Norse on Friday moves the Central baseball team to 22-8 overall and 11-4 in the Iowa Conference.
