Despite striking first on the scoreboard, the Pella boys soccer team was handed its first defeat of the season last night, as the Little Dutch fell 2-1 to Nevada. Pella’s Nolan Chiles struck first on an assist by Spencer Boeyink, but the Cubs evened the score later in the first half after converting on a penalty kick.

Nevada added another goal in the second half to go up 2-1, and were able to hold off the Little Dutch for the remainder of the contest. With the loss, the Pella boys soccer team is now 3-1 overall and remains 2-0 in Little Hawkeye Conference play, with their next match coming on Friday at South Tama.
