The Knoxville Police Department is investigating several vehicle break-ins overnight in the Westridge neighborhood of Knoxville. Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA KRLS news that six reports of break-ins have been taken as of 10AM. Vehicle windows were broken and valuables taken, and in one case perpetrators entered an open garage to obtain access to a vehicle from which items were stolen. This series of break-ins follows a similar series of thefts in the same neighborhood overnight April 11 and 12. Chief Losada encourages residents not to leave valuables in plain sight in vehicles, to either take them inside or lock them in a glove box or in the trunk. The investigation into the thefts continues.
