The Knoxville School Board discussed the board’s policy for “community use of school facilities” at their meeting Tuesday evening. The topic was brought up to review the districts policies for booster clubs renting facilities for various events. Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says for the past few years these groups have not been charged a rental fee but are responsible for taking care of custodial costs. Board members discussed what was an appropriate fee and mentioned the importance of consistency in billing the groups. Flack says the district will look into options for combining custodial labor for these events to be more efficient.
