Here in Iowa 163 officers have lost their lives including two in Marion County, John Van Haaften and Harold Gates. According to a proclamation by Knoxville Mayor Don Zoutte, it is important for all citizens to realize and understand the problems, duties and responsibilities of their police department and that it is their duty to serve the people by safeguarding life and property.
