Ten students from Knoxville High School along with one Pleasantville student were awarded scholarships at Wednesday’s Knoxville Rotary club meeting. The 11 seniors were awarded $500 scholarships to help supplement expenses as they continue their education after high school. Scholarships awarded include the Dwight Mater Scholarship for a student entering the medical field, the Lela Harp Scholarship for a student who plans to attend a community college and 9 Knoxville Rotary Club Scholarships awarded to students that will be attending a four year college or university. In addition to the recognition at Wednesday’s meeting, the seniors will also be recognized at the Dollars for Scholars program on May 19th.
