P-C-M and Waterloo Columbus are tied for the lead at the end of the first round of play at the class two-A boys state golf meet. Both teams shot a 312 at Lake Panorama National resort in Panora yesterday. In fact four teams are within five shots of each other. Kumper Catholic is in third place with a 314 and Unity Christian is fourth at 317. Pleasantville had a tough first round, the Trojans are tenth with a 354. Individually P-C-M’s Matt Jennings is tied for the lead as he shot a 72 and Logan VanVeen is third after firing a round of 75. Pleasantville’s low scorer is Jarod Thill. He shot a 78 and is in 13th place. The final round begins this morning at eight.
