The Pella Christian baseball team stayed undefeated beating Fairfield 11-4 last night.

Zach Zylstra picked up the win pitching five innings giving up four earned runs with five strikeouts and one walk. Tom Bouwkamp pitched the sixth inning and Kyle DeRonde closed it out throwing the seventh inning. Micah Nieboer had a great night at the plate going 2-3 with five RBI, Zylstra went 2-3 with 4 RBI, DeRonde was 3-3 with one RBI and Jordan Rosler was 1-3 with an RBI. In all the Eagles had 10 hits as a team as they improved to 5-0 on the season. Coach Brad Rolffs is very pleased with how they’ve started the season and says as far as pitching, they don’t have one or two dominant pitchers like years past, but top to bottom he feels it could be one of the best rotations they’ve had at Pella Christian with six solid pitchers inclusing Sam DeNooy, Jon Holwerda, Zach Zylstra, Kyle DeRonde, Tom Bouwkamp and Micah Nieboer.

Pella Christian will travel to South Tama for a LHC varsity doubleheader tonight starting at 5:30pm.
