Melcher-Dallas fell to Murray in baseball last night 6-5 in eight innings. The Saints had a 4-1 lead in the top of the seventh but allowed the Mustangs to tie it and send the game into extra innings. Murray then forged ahead 6-4 in its half of the eighth and Melcher-Dallas plated a run in the bottom of the eighth but could not get the tying or winning run across. Robert Bingham took the loss going the distance allowing six runs on five hits, seven walks, and 13 strikeouts. Coach John Suntkin said one key to the loss was the current hitting slump the team is in. Melcher-Dallas has a few days off before the Saints take on Moulton-Udell at home next week. Suntkin says that will give the team an opportunity to improve on hitting.
