The Pella baseball team halted a two-game losing streak in emphatic fashion last night at South Tama, as the Little Dutch routed the Trojans 15-3.  Pella scored the game’s opening run by stretching an errant throw by South Tama on a would-be single into a triple, and then advancing to home on yet another error as the Trojans tried to throw the ball to third base.  After that, things only got worse for the host Trojans, who committed several errors and walked multiple batters for the Little Dutch.

Pella’s Alex Hardine earned the complete-game victory on the mound, while Chris Bandstra led the Little Dutch at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance that included a double and two walks.  With the win, Pella now carries a 3-5 overall record and a 2-3 mark in the Little Hawkeye Conference.  The Little Dutch return to action Monday against Grinnell for the first of five consecutive home games over the next two weeks.
