The location change didn’t slow down the Pella Christian baseball team as they went to Newton and swept the Cardinals in a doubleheader last night 3-0 and 13-3 in six innings.

In game one Tom Bouwkamp got the win pitching a complete game shutout giving up six hits, walking none and striking out four.  Kyle DeRonde was 2-2 with two doubles and two RBI and Micah Nieboer also had an RBI.

As the score would indicate, the nightcap was all Pella Christian as everybody contributed.  Zack Zylstra pitched all six innings in getting the win allowing six hits, striking out two and walking one, and also helped his own cause going 2-3 at the plate with an RBI and scored two runs.  DeRonde had another big game going 3-4 with three RBI,  and Bouwkamp was 2-2 with an RBI.  Jon Holwerda, Sam DeNooy,  Curtis Rozenboom and Jon Rossler all had an RBI as well.  The Eagles improved to 12-1 on the season and 6-1 in Little Hawkeye Conference play and head to Carlisle for a non conference JV/Varsity doubleheader starting at 4pm.
