Mother Nature really played games with the Pella Christian and Grinnell baseball teams last night.

The teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader at Grinnell, but the games were moved to Pella Christian due to wet field conditions in Grinnell. Then in the second inning of game one, lightning forced a delay and eventually heavy rains forced the doubleheader to be postponed with Pella Christian leading 2-1 in the top of the second inning. The games have been re scheduled for July 1st in Grinnell.

Today the Eagles are scheduled to host the Pella Christian tournament and Coach Brad Rolffs says they’e hoping weather will cooperate for a great day of baseball today. Pella Christian is scheduled to play Bondurant Farrar at 10am, however Rolffs says there’s a good chance that game may be delayed until 11am or noon because he doesn’t think the field will be ready at 10am. He says they’ll come in early today and evaluate the field and do everything they can to get it ready for play as quickly as possible. Lynnville Sully and Eddyville Blakesburg are scheduled to play at noon, then the two losers play at 2pm with the two winners playing at 4pm if everything stays as scheduled.

Pella Christian is 12-3 overall and 6-2 in LHC play and is coming off back to back losses Tuesday and Wednesday and hopes to re gain their momentum today heading into next week.
