The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team brought up to the minute updates to residents as Marion County was under a severe thunderstorm warning Friday morning from just after 10:00 until 11:15am.  The storm brought high winds, rain, thunder and lightning to the area.  There were reports of pea sized hail in the western portion of the county on the leading edge of the storm along with wind gusts up to 46 miles per hour and 0.42” of rain.  In addition, according to Pleasantville Fire Chief PJ Gasparovich, a tree fell over in Pleasantville Friday causing a down power line. Gasparovich says he’s unsure if it was caused by the high winds or lightning. Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says no other damage has been reported during that storm. For later storms, see above story.
