Knoxville fell to Oskaloosa in baseball last night 10-9. The Panthers started off on the right foot by getting three runs in the bottom half of the first inning to lead 3-0. After the Indians jumped ahead in their half of the third inning, Knoxville tied it at four, but Oskaloosa plated five more runs to forge ahead 9-4. However Knoxville was not done as the Panthers scored three times in the sixth and once in the seventh but is was not enough. The Panthers had bases loaded and Lance Daugherty at the plate with two outs and after giving Mike Jacks and intention pass, Daugherty hit a sharp grounder to short stop to end the game with a force out at second. Coach Steve Mott said the right guys were at the plate when it counted the most. Knoxville was lead at the plate by Adam Theil who went 2/4 with four R-B-I. Kellen Glover took the loss going just 3 1/3 innings. Jamie VanderVeer and Colton Spaur pitched in relief. Knoxville falls to 12-5 on the season and 5-3 in Little Hawkeye Conference play. The Panthers host Chariton tonight.
