Marion County has received 1.62 inches of precipitation in the past 24 hours. Which brings the rainfall total this month to 12.7 inches. In order to set a rainfall record for the month, Marion County must receive a total of more than 12.79 inches or just over 0.09 inches more before the end of the month, that record was set back in 1935. The storm overnight has caused two power outages in Marion County. According to MidAmerican Energy, at one time 14 customers in the county were without power this morning due to a branch that had fallen over a power line on highway 5 near Attica and a lightning strike near 155th southwest of Attica. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana Township Fire Department and MidAmerican Energy responded to the report.
