Marion County was under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning from 4:45am this morning until 5:15am with the southwestern portion of the county’s warning extending until 5:30. The overnight and morning storm resulted in 1.05 inches of rain bringing the monthly total to 13.75, which shatters the 1935 record for rainfall during the month of June which stood at 12.79 inches before today. The storm also resulted in some power outages as MidAmerican Energy reported up to 21 customers without power at one time this morning. There have been no reports of damage in the county at this time.
