Several events are planned in Marion County this year to celebrate our country’s independence. Due to the 4th of July falling on a Sunday this year Bussey, Pleasantville and Knoxville will hold their Independence Day festivities on Saturday the 3rd. In Pleasantville, the annual parade will begin at 11am and a fireworks display will start at dusk. Several activities are planned in Bussey Saturday as well including a parade at 10am, a raising of the flag ceremony at 11am followed by live musical entertainment, rides, raffles and fireworks once the sun sets. There will also be fireworks at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Knoxville Saturday night at dusk as well.
