In an all-Marion County battle, Melcher-Dallas pulled off the win over Twin Cedars in the first round of the class 1A softball regional last night at Twin Cedars 2-1. JoAnna Wells earned the win going the distance striking out seven and knocking in the go-ahead and eventual winning run in the sixth. Morgan Rozenboom also pitched the distance for the Sabers allowing just four hits on one walk and one strikeout. Melcher-Dallas will move on tonight to play at Des Moines Christian while Twin Cedars finishes at 17-5.
