One key to Knoxville baseball’s success this season was the Panthers’ ability to play small ball. Many times that does not go over very well with the players since small ball involved a lot of bunting, and moving players around the base paths. Coach Steve Mott has been very pleased with the way his team bought into the small-ball formula this season. Mott adds using the squeeze play and double steal when the opportunity presents itself has been helpful to the team this season. A reminder to fans that there will be a send off at the Middle School in Knoxville this evening at six. Fans are also invited to line along Park Lane by the V-A to send the Panthers off to the state tournament.
