With the state baseball tournament underway, it’s clear that the best teams successes start with strong pitching.

That’s something Pella Christian coach Brad Rolffs stresses every season to his players and he says it’s an area they continue to focus on building every off season. The Eagles had a pretty solid 3-4 man rotation they could depend on this past season and could go as deep as six or seven if needed. Sam DeNooy and Jon Holwerda were their top two pitchers this season and both will graduate which means they’ll need to fill those holes next season but Rolffs says he feels very confident with what is coming back next season not just for pitching but all around. They only lose the two seniors and a lot of sophomores and juniors will be returning next season.
