After holding team camps last week, football practices can officially begin today in Iowa. Pella High is coming off a season which saw them advance to their first ever championship game and Coach Jay Mckinstrey says that has built a lot of excitement for this season. He says last week during team camp they focused primarily on fundamentals and basics and made sure everyone got involved, but now it’s time to get down to business and start putting pieces together to get ready for the season opener at Newton in just a couple weeks. He says they’ll start concentrating more on offensive and defensive schemes this week and trying to get the right players in the right positions to have the most success. Pella opens their season at Newton Friday August 27th.
