Marion County is one of 29 in the state of Iowa that have been granted a Presidential Disaster Declaration for Individual Assistance. The declaration makes federal assistance available for families and individuals who have been affected by severe weather this spring and summer. This can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help residents and business owners recover from the disaster.
Because Marion County has now been approved for the federal aid, it is not necessary to contact local emergency management with damage reports. Those who have been affected by storms this spring and summer can register online here or call the Federal Emergency Management Agency at 1-800-621-FEMA.
