A failed attempt to cross a roadway flooded by the South Skunk River left a driver stranded near the Marion and Jasper County line Thursday afternoon. Marion County Sheriff Ron Goematt tells KNIA/KRLS News that a female driver entered the flooded roadway at South 124th Avenue near East 180th Street in Jasper County while on her way to Pella. The woman quickly found her vehicle submerged and had to be rescued by a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy. The Pella Ambulance and Rural Fire Departments and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
