With the big Labor Day weekend coming up, there are plenty of good times to be had at Lake Red Rock but it is still important to remember boating safety. In 2007 the Coast Guard reported that more than 70 percent of all boating accidents involved boats less than 26 feet in length and operators quite experienced in the water. Often times it is the people who are overconfident in the water that cause many of these accidents. Park Ranger Tracy Spry recommends that those planning on taking their boats out next weekend make make responsible decisions to keep the Holiday safe for them and everyone else on the lake.
