The Pella Christian volleyball team had a busy, but successful opening week to their season last week with wins over Johnston and Winterset both larger schools, then competed well at the Ames tournament with wins in pool play over Fort Dodge and Newton and also defeated Nevada before falling to Ames in the semifinals. Tonight the Eagles open Little Hawkeye Conference play at Norwalk and coach John Evenhouse says he hopes to see improvements in their offense. He says they are a little sloppy, which he credits to the fact it’s early in the season, but notes with no matches this week until today they have worked hard on offense in practice. He notes their serving and defense has been very strong so far and hopes to see that continue in addition to improving the offense. Tonight’s action at Norwalk begins at 5:30pm.
