Columbia Rescue responded to a report of a 31 year old male with chest pains just before 10:30 last night. While at the scene at 708 Rutledge Street in Melcher Eric Dunbar McBroom’s condition deteriorated and the first responders began CPR. Columbia Rescue transported McBroom to a landing zone in Melcher that was set up by Melcher Rescue personnel where they met up with Mercy Air Life. After all attempts at resuscitation failed, McBroom was pronounced dead. The case is under investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Marion County Medical Examiners Office. The cause of death is pending autopsy results.
