The Knoxville City Council awarded a contract for the 2010 Graceland Cemetery Storm Sewer Improvements Project at their recent meeting. The wet year has caused further damage of the storm sewer at the cemetery causing one of the lines to collapse and form numerous holes. The contract was awarded to Vanderpool Construction for $92,293.05 and the city is providing the engineering services and purchasing materials which will cost an additional $98,000. The approved contract is for the vast majority of improvements needed at Graceland Cemetery but it will likely need more attention in the future.
