The Knoxville Boys and Girls Cross Country squads head to the Oskaloosa Classic today. The boys look to make it two wins in a row after last week’s championship at the Grinnell Invitational. Coach Mike Moats says the boys heave put in put in a very good week of running and seem ready for today while the girls are working hard and lowering their times each time out. With their effort last Tuesday the Knoxville boys have now vaulted to number two in the latest Iowa Track and Field Coaches Association class 3A rankings.

The Pella Christian Cross Country squads also compete at Oskaloosa today. So far this season the boys squad has looked very strong and is coming off a win at the Johnston Invitational last week where three runners placed in the top 10. On the girls side Sarah Brandsen and Mickaela Martin continue to be the top runners for the Eagles. Coach Jocelyn Meinders says the Osky course at Edmundson Park is a good, hilly course which challenges the runners and is a course they usually run well on so she’s hopeful for good results.
