After stumbling in the opening game, the Pella Christian volleyball team won the next three, as the Eagles stayed undefeated in the Little Hawkeye Conference with a win over Grinnell last night. The Lady Eagles were defeated 25-20 by the Tigers in game one, before earning hard-fought wins of 25-19, 25-19, and 25-20 in the next three games.
Pella Christian’s Ashley Van Kooten had a stand-out night, as she recorded a staggering 41 digs on defense, while teammates Paige Zylstra and Jenna Horstman picked up 5 and 4 blocks, respectively. On offense, Horstman led the team with 13 kills, while setter Sarah Faber had 28 assists and Megan Van Kooten served up 6 aces. With the win, Pella Christian is now 10-4 overall and off until next week when they face South Tama.
