Third graders across the county gathered at a local farm last week to for a hands-on field trip. Representatives from the Marion County Farm Bureau, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Marion County Cattleman’s Association, Iowa Corn Growers and Marion County Pork and Beef Producers were on hand to teach students about the importance of agriculture. Dan Dennison, Owner of Dan-D Farm says it’s important to teach children about farming because so many of them are becoming disconnected with the how much the industry impacts our everyday lives. The annual event took place at Dan-D Farm and students from Knoxville, Pella and Twin Cedars attended the field day.
