As was expected, the Pella Christian volleyball team made quick work of the opening round of postseason play, dispatching Albia in straight sets last night at Pella Christian High School.  The Lady Eagles won by scores of 25-14, 25-11, and 25-9.

Every member of the Eagles’ roster saw time on the floor in the victory, as Pella Christian overcame some inconsistent serving in game one to finish the night with 16 aces; including 4 apiece from Ranae DeBruin and Sarah Faber.

Faber had a game-high 25 assists, with Meredith Fopma benefitting from the majority of them, as she finished with 11 kills.  Jasmin Schelhaas added six kills, while Ashley Van Kooten and Paige Zylstra led the Pella Christian defense with 13 digs and 5 blocks, respectively.

With the sweep, the no. 9-ranked Lady Eagles advance to next Tuesday’s Regional Quarterfinal against Eddyville-Blakesburg.
