Pella Christian continued its quest to return to the State Volleyball Tournament, as they swept Eddyville-Blakesburg last night in Pella.  The Lady Eagles came out with a high level of energy, and maintained the effort throughout much of the night’ winning by scores of 25-10, 25-15, and 25-14.

Especially key in Pella Christian’s success was their serving performance, as they committed just three service errors and were led by Cali Vink, who successfully executed all 22 of her attempts, including a pair of aces.  Defensively, Ashley Van Kooten had a solid night with 26 digs, while Paige Zylstra added 8 blocks at the net.  The Lady Eagles’ offense was led by Meredith Fopma’s 10 kills from the left side, while Jenna Horstman added 7 kills and Sarah Faber dished out 23 assists.

Pella Christian advances to the Regional Semifinals on Friday night in Bloomfield, where they will face a Davis County squad that defeated Van Buren last night in four games.  That match will begin at 7:00 pm and broadcast live on 92.1 fm, KRLS.
