Pheasant season opens up in Marion County on Saturday and it’s always important to remember hunting safety. State Conservation Officer Ken Kenyon tells KNIA/KRLS News that you can never have enough blaze orange on you when you are hunting. He says that at the minimum hunters are required to wear a blaze orange vest, but a lot of times the first thing people see is the top of your head so it’s a good thing to wear a blaze orange hat as well. Kenyon says pheasant numbers are down this year which is due to the rainy spring and summers experienced recently in Marion County.
