Central College senior football players Kurtis Brondyke and Shane Wong are this week’s Iowa Conference Players of the Week. Brondyke, a punter for the Dutch, was named the league’s special teams player of the week, after averaging 42.7 yards per punt on six attempts in Central’s 35-7 win over Buena Vista University.

Wong, a defensive end, also had a big game against the Beavers, and was named the conference’s top defensive player for the week after racking up ten tackles, including 2.5 for a loss. Central is 8-1 and ranked No. 16 in the AFCA Division III rankings.

The Dutch take on No. 13 Wartburg Saturday for a share of the conference title and a shot at a NCAA Division III playoff berth. Game time is 1 p.m. at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium.
