One of the main differences that Knoxville Girls Basketball fans are seeing this season as opposed to the last two seasons is more of an inside game. The post has always been there but with the outstanding permitter game the last two seasons, post player Katie Ayers and teammate Ellie Hawkshead has in the past been asked to face the basket and get rebounds off missed outside shots. This season, Coach Jim Utiermarkt is asking both players to post up and play with their backs to the basket. Utiermarkt says it is almost like starting over for both Ayers and Hawkshead since neither has been asked to play that way in nearly three seasons. He says they are progressing nicely and adds when the inside game starts to make its mark the outside game will open up as well. Knoxville has until Friday off when the Panthers open up Little Hawkeye Conference play at Pella.
