Now that all of our area basketball teams have completed the 2010 portion of the season…the coaches and players can look back and for some take a deep breath and exhale at the busy start to the season. For the Knoxville girls it started off slowly in more ways than one. The Panthers played two games in three days to start the season but then had eight days between their games with P-C-M and their meeting with Pella. That started a span of six games in ten days ending earlier this week with a win over Chariton. Knoxville is two-and-six on the season something that Coach Jim Utiermarkt and the team is not used to being this far below 500. He says in the first eight games they have played two ranked teams and two more that will likely be ranked after the first of the year. Knoxville opens up the second half of the season hosting Grinnell January fourth.
