The Knoxville Raceway recently announced several changes to the weight and motor rules for the 2011 season. One big change is adding 25 pounds to the minimum weight of a 410 sprint car. So instead of 1,375 pounds that a 410 sprint car must weight, starting in 2011 a 410 must weight at minimum 1400 pounds. Knoxville Raceway Competition Director John McCoy says the World of Outlaws has adopted this rule and it was a good move for the Raceway to follow suit to make the cars safer. McCoy also added that the L-S sprint car engine will be allowed to run during all of the Knoxville Raceway events including the Knoxville Nationals. He says officials hope to further study the engine in 2011. McCoy added there were no rules changes for the 360 class.
