Moravia outscored Twin Cedars in each quarter to pull away for a 71-49 Bluegrass conference win on the road Tuesday night. Both teams came into the contest with matching 2-6 records but were in the thick of the conference race. Coach Alan Stewart commented that his team spent most of the holiday break looking to speed up the tempo and execution in the offensive end of the floor but the Mohawks had too much firepower for the Sabers to keep up with. With the score 33-21 in favor of Moravia at the half both teams put on an offensive show in the third quarter combining to shoot nearly 70% for the frame. The Sabers would get as close as six but either came up empty offensively or turned the ball over in critical situations ending the comeback bid. Derek Springer and Coy Moore led the Sabers with 12 points each, Moore did it with four three point goals, while Springer worked hard on the inside with 10 of his 12 points coming in the second half. With the loss Twin Cedars falls to 2-7 overall and 2-2 in the Bluegrass conference.
