Over an inch of snow greeted Marion County this morning causing area roadways to become slick and potentially hazardous.
The Iowa DOT says area roadways are 100% snow and ice covered and slick. County and city plows are in operation. The Marion County Engineers Office reports that crews are applying a sand/salt mixture to bridges, curves, intersections and hills in the county, and will revise their plans as the morning progresses.
The Marion County Sheriff’s office urges caution this morning. Please give our first responders and road crews plenty of room to work.
