Even though the Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad got out-rebounded 31-25 against A-D-M…the Panthers won the scoreboard battle Saturday 47-37. Knoxville outshot the Tigers 41% to 33% and was able for the first time this season string back-to-back wins together. Alex Abens led all scorers with 15 points, Ellie Hawkshead had six of her 11 points in the fourth quarter including the game-clincher with less than a minute to go. The Panthers had a good weekend with two victories. Friday night against Oskaloosa was on the road. Coach Jim Utiermarkt said not only was the win Friday night needed but it was also an important win in the conference away from home. Knoxville improves to 4-7 on the season and hosts Newton tomorrow.
