Torrid shooting by Newton in the first half coupled with Knoxville’s inability to get anything going at both ends of the court made for a long night for the Panthers as the Cardinals won the boys game last night 59-35. The Cardinals shot a white-hot 76% from the field in the first half to build a 34-11 lead. Knoxville as able to come out in the second half and get the offense going and play better on defense. While Coach Clint Driftmier was not happy with the first half effort he gave credit for the second half of play. Lance Daugherty led Knoxville with eight points. The Panthers are now three-and-nine on the season and will have tonight off. Knoxville’s next time on the court will be this Friday against Pella Christian.
