It was Jake Burgett in the first half and Bobby Beier in the second half. That 1-2 punch led the Pleasantville Trojans to a Pride of Iowa Conference victory over Wayne in Corydon Tuesday night by a 54-44 final. Burgett lit up the scoreboard in the first quarter dropping 11 points and followed that up with an eight point performance in the second quarter. A strong 2-3 zone defense by the Trojans helped to hold down the Falcons inside game of Ryan Kirsch and Brent Banks, helping Pleasantville to a 27-20 lead at the break. In the second half Beier came to life. Beier, who has been struggling on the floor following an injury before the holiday break looked to return to his old form with aggressive play on the offensive end. He finished with 16 points, 14 of them coming in the second half. With the win Pleasantville improves to 6-4 in the Pride of Iowa Conference and 10-5 overall.
