Pella Christian played stellar defense against Pekin Thursday night, and advanced in the Class 2A District 13 Tournament with a 66-44 victory.

The Eagles held the Panthers to just 14 first-half points in a game heard live on 92.1FM KRLS and kniakrls.com. Pella Christian had a 33-14 lead at halftime. That lead would hold the remainder of the game.

Pella Christian had 4 players in double figures, led by Chase Carlson with 20 points. Kyle Nikkel had 14, and Curtis Rozenboom and Sam Tvedt each added 11.
