When the girls basketball season ended at Knoxville this season…it also brought an end to five straight season with at least one player with the last name of Abens on the team. Alex Abens played her final game earlier in February and Coach Jim Utiermarkt says each Abens sister made her individual mark on the program. He says Alex will be remembered as a great ball handler and was a very good point guard. Abens was averaging around ten points per game but after some adjustments in the offense by the coaching staff…her scoring average jumped 13-point-five by season’s end.
