The Knoxville City Council continues to search for a suitable candidate to take over in the City Manager position this week. Meanwhile, Current City Manager Dick Schrad, who plans to retire next month, was honored last weekend for his exceptional contributions to the development of the city/county management profession and the state association. Schrad was presented with the Joe Lukehart Professional Service award during the Iowa Municipal Management Institute, which is given to individuals responsible for promoting the professional development of Iowa’s City/County Management Association. Schrad says the award was unexpected and a great honor, as past recipients have gone onto receive International City Manager awards.
