April 15th is the final day to sign up for the General Conservation Reserve Program, or CRP. Land set aside for CRP is intended to create new wildlife habitats and enhance soil and water quality through a variety of covers that are planted on the designated site. In return for supporting the land use in this way, the owner receives technical assistance, rental payments and cost share. You can find more information about eligibility requirements here.
