The Pella Christian boys golf squad picked up very consistent scoring from their top four golfers, but ultimately the home course advantage favored Oskaloosa in a triangular Tuesday at Edmundson Golf Course. The Eagles shot 169 as a team to take second place, with Oskaloosa finishing six strokes better and South Tama taking third with a 186 at the meet.
Trey Hugen, Blake Riggen and Mason Howerzyl each shot a 42 to lead Pella Christian; with Drew Stravers carding a 43, Alex Heaton shooting a 46 and Brennon Veenstra finishing his round at 49 to round out the scoring for the Eagles.
Oskaloosa’s Mitch Tucker and Tyler Smith shot a 35 and 39, respectively, to take medalist and runner-up honors.
