Back in March, we brought you a story about a Pella native who experienced the earthquakes and tsunamis in Japan first hand. Kyl Timmer, who is a teacher in Tokyo, reported to his sister Sheri Roslien of Pella that despite the devastation he was safe. Last week was Golden Week in Japan, an annual celebration of several national holidays. During this time, Timmer volunteered to help gut, clean and rebuild homes and businesses with the All Hands Voluneers group, Habitat for Humanity and scores of other volunteer organizatons.
